What you can do

Integrate ShipEngine with CodeWords to automate shipping label creation, rate calculations, and package tracking workflows for your e-commerce operations.

• Compare shipping rates. When orders are ready to ship, the integration retrieves rates from multiple carriers through ShipEngine, compares costs and delivery times, and selects the most economical option based on your preferences.

• Generate shipping labels. As orders are processed, the system creates shipping labels through ShipEngine with correct addresses and package dimensions, then stores the labels and sends them to your warehouse for printing.

• Validate shipping addresses. Before creating shipments, the integration validates customer addresses using ShipEngine's verification service, corrects formatting issues, and flags invalid addresses for customer contact before processing.

• Track package deliveries. After labels are generated, the system monitors tracking information through ShipEngine, sends status updates to customers at key milestones, and alerts support teams when delivery exceptions occur.

• Calculate customs documentation. For international shipments, the integration generates customs forms with product details and values, creates commercial invoices, and ensures all required documentation is included with the shipment.

• Process shipping insurance. Based on order value, the system adds shipping insurance through ShipEngine, calculates premiums, includes insurance in total shipping costs, and documents coverage for high-value shipments.

• Update inventory systems. When shipping labels are created, the integration updates inventory counts, records package weights and dimensions, and synchronizes shipping details across your warehouse management and accounting systems.

• Handle return shipments. When return requests are received, the system generates return labels through ShipEngine, emails them to customers with instructions, and creates tracking entries to monitor returned packages.
