Changelog

The latest products, features, and updates from the CodeWords team.

  1. One place for your schedules and triggers

The new Scheduled page listing workflows and their triggers or schedules, with search, filters, last run time, and a status toggle for each

Your scheduled workflows and triggers now live together on a single Scheduled page, so you don't have to check two places to see what's running and when.

    What's new

    • Everything together: Schedules and triggers now show up in one list, and old links to either page bring you straight here.
    • Faster to manage: Search and filter your list, and set repeating intervals in just a few clicks.
    • Instant deletes: Removing a schedule or trigger now feels instant, with no lag.
    • Reliable WhatsApp triggers: Deleting a WhatsApp trigger now properly disconnects the linked device, so it won't stay paired after you remove it.
  2. What's new (August 17, 2026)

    • Canceling your plan is now clearly labeled — paid users see a direct Cancel plan option instead of only Downgrade.
    • Switching plans now tells you exactly where you're headed, like Switch to Business.
    • If a payment fails, you can now update your card or cancel a still-retrying subscription right from Wallet and Plans.
    • Closed checkout partway through? You'll now see a simple option to retry or cancel, with no follow-up survey.
    • Hitting your monthly run limit now takes you straight to Plans to upgrade, instead of just showing when it resets.
    • Fixed an issue where a chat with a to-do list but no graph could show a blank screen instead of Cody and helpful tips.
    • Broken links now take you to a friendly page with quick ways to get back on track, instead of an error.
  3. A clearer way to build and manage your WhatsApp agents

The WhatsApp agent builder showing a clear step-by-step setup flow with progress steps across the top

We've refreshed how you build and manage your WhatsApp agents, so everything feels clearer from your very first click.

    What's new

    • A cleaner builder: Build your agent on a clean, visual board, with clearer steps for access and confirmation along the way.
    • A tidier Agents page: Find your agents faster with search and filters, and see at a glance which are Live and which are Paused.
    • A friendlier start: New to WhatsApp agents? A clear starting point guides you toward your first build.
  4. Your wallet and plan, now easier to manage

The Account settings page with Wallet and Plans now split into two separate items in the sidebar

Billing settings have a new, clearer home. Wallet and Plans are now two separate tabs, so it's easy to find exactly what you need.

We've also added usage alerts, so you'll know before you reach your monthly limit.

    What's new

    • Wallet and Plans, separated: Manage your credits in Wallet, and compare or upgrade your plan in Plans.
    • Usage alerts by email: Free and Pro users now get an email as they approach or reach their monthly workflow-run limit.
    • Smoother billing links: Links from your billing provider now take you straight to the right tab, every time.
  5. What's new (July 24, 2026)

    • New template: a WhatsApp receptionist for hotels that answers guests from your real hotel facts, captures booking enquiries, and sends you a summary.
    • Your homepage has a refreshed look, with a cleaner welcome and simpler navigation.
    • Click the CodeWords logo anytime to replay the landing animation.
    • Started a chat before signing in? Your prompt now carries through after you log in.
    • Cody's thinking now displays as a clean "Thinking" step instead of raw text.
    • Fixed an issue where connecting ChatGPT to CodeWords could get stuck partway through.
    • Removed a confusing message that could appear when reopening an older chat.
    • If your Support Bot stays quiet after connecting, that's expected until you set who it can message — you'll get an alert if messages pile up in the meantime.
  6. Guided setup for your WhatsApp agents

The WhatsApp Agents page showing five ready-made agent templates: Watcher, Scheduled Digest, Booking, AI Assistant, and Support Bot

Setting up a ready-made WhatsApp agent is now simple. Every agent walks you through launch step by step, so you always know what's done and what's coming next.

Once you're live, it's easy to stay in control. Check your agent's status at a glance, and pause or restart its schedule whenever you like.

    What's new

    • Step-by-step setup: Every ready-made agent guides you through launch with clear steps and a live preview, so you can see exactly how it works before you share it.
    • Status and schedule controls: See that your agent is up and running, and pause or restart its schedules in a click.
    • Dependable launches: Agents now go live smoothly and always reopen the right chat.
    • Support agents stay on script: Your support agent sticks to your FAQs, and passes the conversation over to you whenever it's unsure.
  7. Earn 100 credits for every referral

What you both get: you earn 100 credits when your friend subscribes to a paid plan, and your friend gets five credits the moment they sign up

Our Referral Program just got a lot more rewarding, for you and the people you invite.

It's our way of saying thank you for spreading the word.

    How it works

    • Share your link: Find your unique referral link under Get free credits in the sidebar, and share it with friends and coworkers.
    • They get a head start: Your friend receives five credits the moment they sign up with your link.
    • You earn: 100 credits land in your wallet once they subscribe to any paid plan.
  8. Your settings, all in one place

The new Settings hub showing the Profile page, with Personalization, Integrations, API Keys, Wallet & Plans, Usage, and Billing in the sidebar

Your account has a new home. Open Settings and everything is together in one tidy hub, so you can manage your whole account without losing your place.

    What's new

    • Everything in one place: Your profile, integrations, API keys, wallet and plans, usage, and billing now live together in Settings.
    • Your timezone, your schedule: Set your timezone once and your scheduled workflows run on your local time.
    • Email preferences: Choose which product emails you'd like, such as status updates on your workflow runs.
    • Quick search: Press ⌘K to jump straight to any setting.
  9. Make Cody yours with Personalization

The Personalization page in Settings, with a custom instructions box where you tell Cody about you, your work, and how you want it to respond

Meet Personalization, a new way to tune how Cody, your AI automation assistant, responds to you.

Tell Cody about you, your work, and your tools once, and every chat starts already on the same page.

    How it works

    • Add custom instructions: Share anything Cody should know, from the tools you use every day to how you like responses written.
    • Cody keeps them in mind: Your instructions apply to every chat automatically, so you never repeat yourself.
    • Update anytime: Head to Settings → Personalization whenever your work changes.
  10. What's new (July 17, 2026)

    • We rebuilt the engine that runs your automations, so they start faster and run more reliably.
    • Share files with Cody, your AI automation assistant, without typing a message. Just attach and send.
    • Cody now keeps hold of your project details in long conversations, even when a reply gets interrupted.
    • Topping up your wallet is quicker, with clearer preset amounts and a shortcut when your balance runs low.
    • Your theme now matches your device automatically, and you can still switch between light and dark anytime.
    • Connecting external tools on the Free plan now shows exactly which plan you need, with a quick way to upgrade.
    • WhatsApp connections are steady again, so your automations send and receive messages reliably.
    • The Usage tab now shows the correct monthly credits for our longest-standing Pro subscribers.
  11. Choose the AI power behind every message

The chat input with the AI power selector open, showing Medium (faster and cheaper, great for most tasks) and High (most capable, best for complex builds)

Business and Custom users can now choose how much AI power goes into each message with Cody, your AI automation assistant.

Pick Medium for quick everyday replies, or High for deeper thinking on trickier builds. You're always in control of speed, quality, and cost.

    What's new

    • Two power levels: Medium is fast and great for day-to-day messages, while High takes more time to think through complex work.
    • Switch anytime: Change the level right from the chat, message by message.
    • Set it and forget it: Your choice is remembered as you go, so you can pick once and keep building.
  12. What's new (July 2, 2026)

    • A faster Chrome extension: We rebuilt the CodeWords extension from the ground up, so it stays connected and feels quicker.
    • Smoother tool connections: After connecting one of your tools, you're taken straight back to your chat to carry on where you left off.
    • Auto top-up now switches off automatically when your subscription ends, so your billing always matches your plan.
  13. Cody remembers your conversations

    Cody memory illustration

Cody now remembers conversation context so you never have to reintroduce yourself or what you're working on.

We've also made some performance updates to memory:

    • On long, media-heavy projects, Cody could sometimes lose its place mid-chat and reintroduce itself. This has been fixed.
    • Cody now holds the full context of your project across extended sessions.
  14. We turned on the lights

    CodeWords light mode screenshot

CodeWords was built and launched in dark mode. Now we've turned on the lights.

Introducing light mode — your CodeWords experience, in daylight.

To switch to light mode, click your Account button in the bottom-left, select Theme, and toggle Light.

  15. What's new (June 2026)

    • Fixed a "Connecting..." state that would hang forever after certain integration fallbacks. Connections now complete correctly.
    • Native CodeWords triggers like Slack no longer show a redundant connect flow.
    • WhatsApp bots were silently receiving messages but never sending replies due to a logger bug. Your WhatsApp automations are responding again.
    • Schedules orphaned by a previous account migration can now be edited and deleted again — no more stuck rows counting against your schedule limit.
    • Business and comped users were occasionally treated as unsubscribed, triggering false paywalls. Fixed.
    • UTM and referral parameters are now preserved through the sign-in flow. Marketing links no longer lose tracking after login.
    • Subscription upgrade modals are smoother with better loading states.
    • Fixed a crash that could occur during fast streaming responses.
  16. Sharper, more reliable chat

Enjoy a smoother Cody experience with smarter modes and improved reliability. Messaging is faster and your conversations are safer from disruptions.

    What's new

    • Upgraded Cody models: Faster, more accurate responses — Free now defaults to Sonnet 4.6, Pro/Business to Opus 4.6.
    • Streamlined long chats: Only your latest 30 messages load by default for quicker scrolling.
    • Markdown rendering: Thinking blocks and tool-call summaries now display in clean, readable markdown.
    • Improved chat suggestions: Up to 6 personalized options with smoother animation and auto-retry.
    • Draft recovery: Your unsent messages stay safe, even if you hit your credit limit.
    • Stability fixes: No more stuck Cody, broken sharing, or random glitches in chat.
    • Updated tips: We've added an interactive carousel to the side of the chat. Before you graph appears, you can see how others are getting the most out of CodeWords.
  17. Publish and integrate with less friction

Get your projects live, tweak them instantly, and integrate with confidence — all from a polished new UI.

    What you get

    • No more broken publish links: Your chats now point to the real live URL.
    • Instant-open publish modal: Deferred loading so it opens right away.
    • Inline editing: Update project titles and descriptions without leaving the page.
  18. What's new (May 2026)

    • Sidebar icons and folder badges now look crisp and consistent everywhere.
    • Project workflow builder features a polished empty state for easier first steps.

    • Chat suggestion box spacing improved for a tidier UI.
    • Profile names are now capped at 100 characters for consistency.
    • CodeWords API keys now require a Pro or Business plan.
    • WhatsApp device integrations: public-URL media download endpoint added, along with improved webhook rate limits.
    • Large images are auto-compressed to WebP, keeping chats efficient and snappy.
  19. Personalized onboarding experience (Beta)

Starting from a blank page is one of the biggest barriers to getting value from any new tool. Our new onboarding experience removes that barrier by learning about you before you start building.

The goal is simple: no more staring at an empty screen wondering where to begin. You get straight to building something that matters to your day-to-day.

This is currently in beta. We're refining it based on early feedback and rolling it out to all new users soon.

    How it works

    • A few quick questions: We ask about your role, your industry, and the kind of work you do so we can tailor your first experience.
    • Profile enrichment: With your permission, we pull context from your LinkedIn profile to understand your background, tools, and workflows.
    • Ready-made starting points: Instead of a blank chat, you get personalized suggestions for what to build first based on what's most likely to be useful for someone like you.
  20. A faster, cleaner chat experience

We've made a few updates to how you interact with Cody in the chat, so you can move faster and stay focused on what you're building.

    What's new

    • Collapsible steps: When Cody works through a complex build, tool calls and reasoning are now grouped into a compact summary. Click to expand whenever you need the full detail.
    • Send now: Queued up a follow-up while Cody is still working? You can now send it immediately. The app stops the current stream and picks up your new message.
    • One button, two actions: The Send button now switches to Stop while Cody is streaming, so there's one clear action at all times.
    • Better follow-ups: Suggested follow-up prompts now appear inline at the end of Cody's last message, loading faster with clearer labels.
    • Formatted thinking: Lists, code blocks, and links inside Cody's thinking and tool summaries now display properly instead of raw text.
  21. What's new (May 2026)

    • Publishing your apps is now faster. The publish window opens immediately with no loading delay.
    • When your app preview is being built, you'll see a clear "Deploying preview..." message instead of a blank page. It refreshes automatically when it's ready.
    • App previews now always show your latest version instead of sometimes showing an outdated or broken view.
    • We've improved the first-time setup experience with clearer instructions and fixed an issue that could prevent some new users from completing onboarding.
    • Highlighting text in the chat now works properly across the whole app, including on dark backgrounds where it was previously invisible.
    • The sidebar no longer jumps around when you collapse or expand it.
    • If you hit Send before your files have finished uploading, the app now lets you know and gives you the choice to send without them.
    • Connecting a tool that's already linked no longer causes the chat to freeze.
    • We've fixed a handful of issues that could cause the chat to crash during long conversations, when handling very large responses, or when uploading certain image files.
    • If an image causes a repeated error, the app now recovers automatically instead of getting stuck in a loop.
    • Remixing apps and workflows shared by others now works reliably.
  22. Platform reliability and quality-of-life upgrades

Spend less time troubleshooting — and more time building.

    Latest improvements

    • Accurate usage and billing info: Free tier limits and top-up status are easy to understand, and annual billing now shows both monthly and yearly totals upfront.
    • Smarter project folders: The "Move to folder" menu now shows more relevant options, and folder actions are easier to find.
    • More resilient scheduled workflows: Workflows automatically turn off after repeated failures so you don't use extra credits.
    • Increased project run times: The time limit for long jobs has doubled, so large tasks like big code batches won't time out.
  23. Advanced AI and model enhancements

Unlock more powerful, transparent, and stable AI features.

    What you get

    • Live tool summaries in chat: Real-time summaries for tool outputs generated by AI, always visible even after you reload.
    • Cody modes UX preview: Try out experimental "Cody modes" (Chat/Plan/Build/Debug) with more detailed progress updates in chat.
    • Expanded model choices: Claude Opus 4.7 is now available everywhere you pick a model.
    • Safer error handling: You'll now see a clear message when something goes wrong on a provider's end — instead of an unexplained crash.
  24. Seamless integrations management

Managing integrations and connected accounts is clearer and more reliable than ever.

    Now you can

    • See and manage multiple integration accounts: Integration cards show how many accounts are connected, with a simple "Manage connections" option.
    • Connect without overwrites: The app warns you if you're about to connect an account with a duplicate name, so nothing gets replaced by accident.
    • Disconnect safely: Removing accounts from integrations like Gmail fully cleans up everything on both sides.
    • Instant status updates: Changes to integrations and connections show up straight away.
    • Promo codes on wallet page: Redeem single-use promo codes to add credit to your balance.
  25. A smoother user experience

Enjoy a more intuitive and polished user experience across CodeWords.

    What's new

    • Live preview environments: Set up fully working test versions of your product that anyone can open and review in real time — no complicated computer setup needed.
    • Smarter canvas preview tabs: Tabs close properly, a new menu keeps things tidy when you have lots of previews open, and you'll see a clean error page instead of a confusing technical message when something goes wrong — it all just works how you'd expect.
    • Chat and canvas polish: Resizing panels feels smoother, messages look better, and the overall layout is cleaner and easier to read.
    • Sidebar and navigation tweaks: Easier to click where you mean to, icons line up properly, and project menus are simpler — fewer accidental clicks and visual messiness.
    • Persistent preferences: Your favorite view and chat settings are remembered, even if you refresh the page.
    • Lilac text selection: Highlighted text now shows up in CodeWords lilac across the whole product.
  26. What's new (April 2026)

    • Precise scheduling: Workflow scheduling now supports precise minute/hour intervals and clearer recurrence descriptions.
    • Enhanced integrations: Composio and Gmail toolkit integrations now include account labels, default badges, and improved connection UX.
    • Visual improvements: Chat messages and tool-call blocks are visually grouped and easier to scan.
    • Chrome Extension: The CodeWords Chrome Extension now has screenshot capability, improved connection feedback, and clearer controls.
    • Documentation: We've updated our documentation to include integrated best-practices guides for LinkedIn Messaging, upgraded extension READMEs, and more.
    • Queued chat messages: These now send after manual stream aborts, image-only messages work, and OAuth/connect popups no longer get stuck.
    • Canvas updates: Canvas previews refresh reliably, connection and account bugs squashed, and rare session leaks closed.
    • LinkedIn integration: LinkedIn messaging errors are now clear and actionable if your LinkedIn account session expires.
  27. What's new (April 2026)

    • Support chat has moved to Intercom: You’ll get faster answers powered by AI, with seamless handoff to the team when needed.
    • Queue multiple messages in your chat with Cody: Type your next prompt while Cody is still working on the current one.
    • Canvas preview now supports multiple tabs: View different outputs side by side with icons and smart tab reuse.
    • Book a walkthrough directly from the onboarding flow: A new slide lets you schedule a call with the team right when you sign up.
    • Fixed an issue where Google connector was hanging on mobile Safari — authorization now works smoothly on all mobile browsers.
    • Fixed Composio OAuth popups being blocked on mobile Safari. The connect flow now works reliably on iOS.
    • The PWA install banner now shows correctly on iOS Chrome and Firefox, so you can install CodeWords on your home screen from any browser.
    • Fixed several chat stability issues: Including crashes from incomplete tool calls, corrupted message parts, and Firefox network errors.
    • Your chat input drafts are now preserved when you submit an answer to Cody, so you never lose what you were typing.
    • Long-running workflows now have a 60-minute timeout, doubled from the previous 30-minute limit.
  28. Web Agent 2.0

Browser automation in CodeWords has been completely rebuilt from the ground up.

Web Agent 2.0 uses a new dual-engine architecture: Browserbase for AI-powered browsing and Playwright for precise, deterministic actions. The result is faster, more reliable web automation — whether you’re scraping pages, filling forms, or navigating complex web apps.

Ask Cody to browse any website or automate a web task to try it out.

    What's new

    • AI-powered extraction: Tell the agent what you want in plain English and it finds, reads, and extracts the data — even on JavaScript-heavy pages.
    • Precise automation: For repeatable tasks that need exact clicks, fills, and navigation, Playwright handles it with surgical precision.
    • Live browser view: Watch the browser work in real time from the canvas preview panel — so you always know what’s happening.
    • Persistent context: Your browser sessions remember your login state, cookies, and preferences across runs, so you don’t need to re-authenticate every time.
  29. A more generous free plan

We've reworked how the free plan works so you never hit a wall mid-build.

Instead of a one-time credit, your free plan now comes with a daily allowance that renews automatically — giving you consistent access without needing to upgrade right away.

If you’re on the free plan, you don’t need to do anything — the new model applies automatically. To unlock higher limits, visit the Wallet page to explore Pro and Business plans.

    What's changed

    • Daily credits: You now receive two credits every day, refreshed automatically.
    • Monthly cap: Free plan usage is capped at 10 credits a month so you can keep building at a steady pace.
    • No mid-session blocks: If you’re in the middle of something and hit a limit, the system tops you up so you can keep going.
  30. A smoother way to connect your tools

Connecting CodeWords to the tools you already use just got a whole lot easier.

We've switched our integrations engine to Composio, giving you a faster, more reliable way to connect to thousands of external services — from CRMs and spreadsheets to messaging platforms and developer tools.

Head to any chat and ask Cody to connect one of your tools to try it out.

    What's new

    • One-click connect: Authorize your tools directly from the chat interface with a cleaner OAuth consent flow. No more copying tokens or leaving the page.
    • 2,000+ integrations: Access a wider library of tools out of the box, including Google Sheets, Slack, HubSpot, Shopify, and more.
    • Trigger support: Set up event-driven automations that fire when something happens in your connected tools, like a new row in a spreadsheet or a new message in a channel.
    • Better search: Finding the right integration is now faster with improved search and toolkit discovery.
  31. Upgraded support chat with Fin AI

We've upgraded our support chat provider to Intercom's Fin AI.

You'll find our Support chat by clicking on Account > Support > Chat to Support.

    Now you get

    • Smarter, AI-powered support 24/7 that's synced to our platform's knowledge base.
    • Richer context is included for our customer success team to bridge our product and support.
    • Fin AI handles the easy questions according to our knowledge base, and hands over queries to a member of the team as soon as it's needed.
  32. What's new (March 23, 2026)

    • Automatically top-up your account with credits whenever you're running low by toggling on'auto top-up' in your Wallet.
    • We've added the option to Book a walkthrough with a member of the CodeWords team in our onboarding so you get the most out of CodeWords fast.
    • We fixed a handful of bugs that were impacting our user chat experience: Chats no longer get stuck mid-conversation or during tasks.
    • Switching to the Preview panel now doesn't trigger random crashes.
    • Errors when users uploaded images to the chat are now resolved.
  33. Introducing versioning

Return to previous versions of anything you’ve built and deployed through CodeWords.

You can revert changes through the following options:

Versions are created every time you deploy or update a service. Only one version is active at any one time, and the latest version will always be the active one, unless you’ve returned to a previous version.

View all versions, summaries, and timelines for a specific workflow or app in the activity pages on each project.

    What’s new

    • Revert versions from chat: Select the three dots in the navbar to view previous versions of your chat.
    • Full version history: All previous versions are kept, and a summary of changes made is applied to each version, so you can always return to previous versions.
    • Rollback anytime: If something breaks after a new deployment, you can instantly revert to any previous working version.
  34. Activity overviews

Now when you click on your workflow or app in the Projects page, you’ll be taken to its activity overview. The activity page means you have more high-level control over everything you build.

    What's included

    • Quick overviews: Head straight to the latest chat to continue building or editing your project, see which version is being used, and find total or average costs for that project.
    • Control schedules and triggers: Quickly create schedules or triggers for your project, and see a quick overview of existing ones.
    • Versioning: Find an overview of all project versions. Return to previous versions, see a summary of version changes, and understand when changes were made.
    • Run pages: You’ll still find the run page for your workflow in the Run tab at the top of the activity page. Click through to manually run your workflow.
  35. Projects and folders

Every time you deploy a workflow or app, the finished version will appear in the Projects page. From there, you can revisit your workflows, organize your work into folders, and get a quick overview of any workflow.

    What you get

    • Create folders: We’ve made it easy to organize your workflows and apps. Select Create folder to group your projects and organize client systems.
    • Organize existing projects: Click the three dots on a project to access a range of actions. Go to that project’s chat, rename, duplicate, delete, or add it to a folder.
  36. Updates to inputting integrations and secrets

We’ve changed how you input secrets and connect to your other tools.

Security is always at the forefront of how we’re building. Read more about our security practices here.

    What’s new

    • Secure input box: When you’re prompted to input an API key or secret, you’ll be able to do so through a secure input box.
    • Connection panel: When a connection to another one of your tools requires authorization, you’ll be prompted to connect from within the chat interface. You no longer need to leave your chat, just click to Connect and the authorization window will open automatically.
  37. Refreshed sidebar

The sidebar has been tidied and updated.

    Now you’ll find

    • Icons and tooltips: When you collapse the sidebar, you’ll find a neater appearance with icons and tooltips.
    • Pin chats: Quickly pin your favorite chats to the top of the Recent chats section.
    • Rename from the sidebar: Easily name your chats from the sidebar so you can always keep your conversations with Cody organized.
    • Chat to support: We’ve moved our support chat to the sidebar. Quickly access support from the CodeWords team, or arrange to book a call for in-depth support.
  38. Updated Templates page

You’ll now find all available automations and apps on our new Templates page.

Use them as they are, as inspiration, or as a starting point for your next build.

    What's new

    • Search bar: we’ve added a search option so you can easily find a relevant template.
    • Collapsed categories: easily sort the Templates page by category type, naming convention, or most recently added.
    • Smart previews: when you click on a template you’ll now see a smart preview tab for a cleaner overview about what the template does. You’ll still be able to run, edit, and share templates once you’ve clicked through to use it.
  39. Introducing CodeWords UI

You can now build a full interface around any workflow, directly from chat.

    Here's what's new:

Frontend generation: describe the UI you want and CodeWords builds it, without you needing to navigate a canvas or code.

Custom domains: publish your agent or dashboard to your own domain in one step.

Create portals, logins, and subscriptions: add user authentication, gated access, and subscription layers on top of any workflow — the building blocks to turn what you've built into a real product.

Turn services into software: deliver end-to-end solutions for clients, and monetize your workflows.

  40. Install CodeWords

CodeWords is now available on your home screen and from your dock.

Get instant access to everything you're building, without switching tabs.

    Install it here → https://docs.codewords.ai/resources/install-codewords

    • Easily find what you’re after with our refreshed template category tags and improved template search.
    • Behind-the-scenes, bug reports now get assigned and fixed faster.
    • We’ve improved the Triggers page loading time so it stays reactive regardless of how many triggers you’re setting up.

    • Claude Opus 4.6 is now available in all your chats with Cody.
  42. New design details

We’ve been busy adding some quality of life updates and product details to make every feature feel thoughtful.

    • Feature pop-ups: Every time a new update is added to the product, you'll find all the details in our pop-up when you login.
